We love green is about showing that we all care for the environment and are doing what we can to protect it. This could mean doing a little bit or a lot; with a collective effort we can help make a big difference.
This brand new initiative is supported by Gallions Housing Association but the organisation doesn’t own it...it's really about ordinary people doing their bit.
We’ve kicked it off with a few pledges (things we will be doing to protect the envrionment) but you can get involved in many ways.
You can take a pledge (in fact you can take as many as you like) by following the link at the top of the page, join our campaigns or just browse to see what events you could take part in.
The site is totally interactive so if you think there is something everyone should be doing to protect their local environment, let us know.

Thamesmead canal clean-up
In sweltering hot weather eleven Trust Thamesmead staff members joined in Thames21’s canal clean- up near Woolwich Polytechnic on Monday 19 July. It was the second canal clean-up the Trust had taken part in as part of their new volunteering initiative.

Local environmental day went down a storm
Gallions Housing Association’s joint environmental day with Trust Thamesmead and Tilfen Land went down a storm in Thamesmead Town Centre on Monday [26th July]. In just under three hours approximately 150 members of the public visited the information point...

Local canal adopted by registered charity
Thamesmead’s leading community development agency and registered charity, Trust Thamesmead, has ‘adopted’ a section of Butts Canal in Thamesmead Town Centre. Staff will spend a couple of hours every month litter picking and looking after the area.

Grab a jute bag for taking a pledge
We're giving away 50 free jute bags (one per household) to anyone taking a pledge. But hurry, these bags won't be around forever...when they're gone, they're gone.
